Naval buttons?? Now IDed ,Thanks PBK!

I found these two buttons with pennit type flags and anchors in the same hole .The backs are gone . I thought that they may be some type of naval buttons. I have never seen any like them and I would guess they date to the early 1900s. The town that they were found in was founded around 1890. Has anybody ever seen these before?

    Re: Naval buttons??

It's a uniform button from the Anchor Line (formerly Handysides & Henderson, and Henderson Brothers), a freighter line which operated from 1865 until 1959.

It was known as Anchor Line (Henderson Brothers) Limited from 1899 to 1935; Anchor Line in 1935; and Anchor Line Limited thereafter.

All of its ships were owned by Cunard from about 1911 on.
    Forgotten but not gone.
