    What is it?????

This is a carving of a fish with guys in canoes and other various things. It has some very old repairs. That makes me think it had a use rather than a tourist item. Any ideas are appreciated

    A Trojan Fish?

You say carving to I guess it's wood. Looks like a mold of some sort but being made of wood limits what can be molded. If it were a stamp for some type of relief you'd think there would be a handle of some sort to pull off. I'm going with Trojan Fish Jello Mold.
    No idea... Interesting.

I'm guessing folklore wall plaque. Maybe African or Filipino... ?

It looks to me like the fishermen inside the fish are operating it - some working the gills, some working the tail some working the mouth...

The style suggests Philippines as a likely origin.

Maybe that's only one half of it.
Yes it looks like a mold for making some type of ceramics.

That crossed my mind as well. Looks like scale decorations along the bottom. For what?

Probably a religious artifact. Early Christians used a fish as their secret symbol.

I also think. Although it’s hard for me to say what it is.
