Here is a map showing the locations of other similar "E" button/disks. We've tried to figure this one out for most of the last decade and still have no definitive ID:

I've always assumed these are farm equipment maintenance related but I can't prove it...

I will also note that this one does NOT have the characteristic pry mark we've seen on many of the other examples.

As I am finding , In life we begin having the Blissful happiness & the Wonder & innocence of a Child, then fall Quickly, then spend the rest of our lives trying to reach that point where we began ,through Pleasure , Fame, & Materials but Only 'Through true faith in Jesus , can we find Prefect Happiness or true Meaning in our Short lives on this Beautiful Earth filled with both the Light of Pure goodness & The Darkness of Pure Evil. Nearest item on a quick search is a power steering control valve end cap.
    Not a match.
Has me wondering if hydraulic pumps have similar devices ,or if steam powered equipment did.
IF areas where such items are found were agriculture type , it's still only a maybe.

How a about an old ensign pin. I'm not a military guru, but ensigns were flag bearers.

yeah a lot of talented researches here have tried, a lot of experienced detectorists have looked, lots of old timers been questioned....still no answer. I tried like hell to figure it out, no luck. Bothers me like crazy, very few things go without id here.

Dang! I was really hoping for an answer. I've found at least one of those here in Minnesota, as well. Doubt I'll be able to locate it now, though. I also have found a reins guide (or whatever that thing was) exactly like the one in the picture.
