    Looks like an old car part.

    Not sure what this is. I have found some spark plugs and other older car parts in the river Im detecting in. Assuming copper but could be brass. The top piece screws off and it looks like air can be added. The bottom has a hole in it and the inside appears to have a white glass inner chamber.

    I think that's a very early condensor for a tractor. Alice Chalmers by the color. The little nut is an electric terminal.

    You're right. I enlarged the image and it is a cap rather than a nut on the fitting. I thunked wrong.
