    OLD FARM TOOL / HOOK?

My son found this in a field near our house. Looks like it could have been used to pick up bales of hay or something like that.

It is at a site of an old sugar mill/plantation site.

I have never seen anything quite like it.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Fairly substantial hook. I agree with the intent being to be bolted through a beam or truss. Possibly to support a pulley.

A couple examples in the diagram below.

I Greatly appreciate your thoughts all. I really like the idea of it being bolted through a beam or timber.

The great picture that was sent seems to support that idea as well.

Thanks again everyone, I guess we will consider this one solved!!!
