    Possible WW2 Medal

I found this item in a park in Australia that used to be a training camp for WW2 soldiers.
I have found a lot of stuff relating to WW2 in the area from bullets to buttons to badges.
It may not be military but given where I found it I figure it could be.
Its made of lead with what I think is copper plating on the front.
    Any help is appreciated.

My first thought was that it's not 'military related', but it's likely a horse bridle rosette.

It looks much older then WWII to me.

    Nice find,
    Dave

If it helps the park where I found it in was called St Ives Showground and housed the Ku Ring Gai regiment from 1941 until the end of the war.
I don't mind giving up the location because since finding this I have moved countries so feel free to steal the spot if you're in the area.
