Rough Rider inspired shoe horn? Something else?

    Hi all,

Found this today in a $5 garage sale box...

    Looks like Teddy on horseback.

    Text reads: Round Up Ranch
    Downsville, NY
(Inside the circle of that text, the RR initials)

Don't see any connection of TR/RR to Downsville...a precursory google search had some hits for some group called the "Downsville Rough Riders", some saddle club, but can't find any information or a time frame of when such a group was active.

Is this just some local saddle club piece paying homage? Bronze? Any noteworthy age to it?

Thanks, as always, for the education and discussion

"Round Up Ranch Resort-- Downsville, NY

Dr. Charles T. Markert opened his Round Up Ranch Resort on Memorial Day in 1947

This family run business was sold in 1985 and operated for several more years but then closed; all but one of the buildings have been demolished."

So 1947 til maybe the 1990s.
I'm beginning to realize I've gone through life without knowing what anything is ...

Awesome, that's very helpful - thank you.
