Cool find, maybe some kind of patriotic button?

Hope someone can definitively ID it for you.

My guess would be war of 1812 Militia due to the style of the eagle. find out when the treasury first started to put "e Pluribus Uum" on coins the button would Likely be dated after that. I forget when that was

E pluribus unum was on the seal from like 1782, it's on some of the half eagles from 1795. So war of 1812 could make sense but I can't be of any help other than that.

I was scrolling down this page and found one similar. 1812-1820 Army Infantry Officer's Cockade button. Pretty decent notes. https://www.georgewashingtoninaugura...-enlisted-men/

Good ID, the OP's button looks almost identical, I'd say that is what the button is! That is pretty cool.
