    Nipple button?

Not sure how to tell the difference between a 17th century “Nipple button”or an 18th century Tomback button that looks like a Nipple button. Mine looks like it was spun. Any information is appreciated.

Its an 18th C Tombac with raised centre, not a 17th C nipple type. All nipple buttons are domed.

Only when it’s cold. Nipple buttons are the best kind of buttons.
