After I've been thinking about this, I don't think the Indians left any valuables in the cave. The second picture from the top with the indian and white man, it's A big turtle pointed in the place you should look. Whatever you do think about it first! LOL

When you say turtle, are you referring to this animal looking thing in the center of this pic underneath the yellow mold stuff?

In the above pic, the item below the yellow mold, looks like an artifact called a slave killer. Mainly from CA, but who knows. Gary

Very cool find! If that track is about 1 1/2" long it is probably a Bobcat, if it is closer to 4" long Cougar. Chances are pretty good that a Cougar was not in that cave or you would have heard it when you got that close. It would be a good idea to have a weapon for defense, whether you go in that cave or not.

A Bobcat would not worry me unless it was cornered or between it and it's kittens. A Cougar on the other hand can be a big problem and you probably would not know it was there until it was too late.

Yes they are Petro's. NO, there is no one that can tell you what they mean in a literal sense. Many signs are known, but the particular way of stringing them together is not. Here are some from Arizona, and the ancestors of the Yavapai Apaches.

    ty Gambrinus.
The prints are a little over three inches!!!
I carry my walking stick and a little backpack with water and usually extra lenses. I figured I could beat something (hear coyotes at night) with both!
People thought I went mad when I suggested hiding a knife on the tip of the walking stick but I think that I’ll re-think that idea!!!

I see a sun and squiggly below it that resembles what I saw here in Utah.
Where in AZ? I was born and lived in Dos Cabezas till I was five and then moved not too far away to the big city with one stoplight...
    Great pics in your profile!
In your finds, are those old aluminum can pop tops collectible?!

The correct term for those is pictographs. A petroglyph would be carved into rock. Look good to me,cool find.

These are from the Weaver Mountains, in Central Arizona, between Congress and Date Creek. No the pulltab is a joke that one of my detecting partners gave me because I'm the "Pulltab King."
