    Bracelet? Harness related? Help please!

Dug this object about 5 inches down at a former home site. The house was built around 1890 and disappeared around 1970. It rang up with a very high tone and at the top end of the vdi. I thought it was going to be a faucet, though I was hoping for a silver dollar. It looks like aluminum to me and is not magnetic. No writing whatsoever. Feels hollow and is three inches in diameter. I am no jewelry expert, but could this be a bracelet? I have found horse tack here before, could this be related to a saddle harness of some sort? Seems too light for that, but I have no real experience with horses. Any insights or ideas would be most appreciated. Thanks.

Interesting idea. It would have to be sewn in though, as it doesn't open at all. Thanks for the idea.

Does not open, though I suppose that does not rule it out completely.

That is how some drapes my Mom had were made, they had loops of cloth sewn in with the ring in the loop. Not as a part of the loop but hanging from the loop.

Nice piece! Hard to think of it as horse related, but I've seen show rigs and harness that cost more than my truck. Long shot but could be a halter ring? Or not?

It puts me in mind of a ring handle that you would see on either side of something like a fancy ice bucket, or some other tableware

That is a very interesting suggestion. Thanks for posting the comment and photo. At this point, I am kind of leaning toward the curtain rod ring, as this item is lightweight, ornate, and does not look scratched or worn like I would expect for something with other practical or functional implications. Thanks again for the response; I am still going to Google your idea.

Non-magnetic, but is it lightweight...? ? Silver...??
I'd lean towards bracelet or drawer-pull............

Any way to double like this post? There are some very close matches on that link you provided. I am much more excited about the possibility that this is a jewelry piece, which was one of my original guesses. I guess I really need to get it looked at at a jewelry shop or antique store. At the very least I really need to get a test kit. Thanks for taking the time to respond and for providing such a great link.

That's at least two who think a bracelet is a possibility. Thanks for the response.
