    Winged item

Looks to me like some kind of winged serpent. Assume it had another wing with a hole in it at one time. Not very heavy, about 10 oz.
Found at an 1800's site but friend found a button that could date the site to the 1700's. The wing is about 2 1/4 inches and it's 4 inches overall.

What looks like scales I believe are actually supposed to be neck feathers and it probably was an eagle but the beak is broken away, kind of like a flag topper eagle would look.

Thanks for the replies. I beleive it is a spur. The picture of the eagle spur sure is similar to my find. The hole didn't seem to be normal for a spur but I googled and found other spurs with a hole. I'm going to call this thread solved.
