Carbine Sling Buckle: Civil War or More Modern?

I found this buckle in an area having known Civil War activity. It looks similar to, but not exactly like, a Union Cavalry Carbine Sling buckle. The stamped words "Solid Brass" look relatively modern, but it is also stamped "England". I've heard that the Confederates imported items from England (CSA cavalry was definitely in this area). Could this be such an item or maybe a more modern English Army military buckle? Has anybody seen an example like this? Thank you for any information you can provide.

While I sure heck don't know everything, most of the sling buckles I've dealt with have had prongs that were movable.

Edited to add a picture showing what I mean.

Your find is a British Commonwealth Army "Sam Browne" buckle, from the World War One era. After the war, the Sam Browne belt rig you see in one of the photos below was also used by various UK Police.
