    What size is itttttttttttt?

    A Stirrup? (If 5" or 6" wide)

    A harness "D" ring (if 1" or 2" wide)

America was founded by tough hell-raisers. Rugged citizens who evaded taxes, spoke strongly against tyranny, grew tobacco, brewed beer, distilled spirits, and smuggled weapons. And it will be saved by those same types of citizens.

I have a dumb question, what's the difference between a horse bridal and horse tac? Actually... what is a horse bridal? Is tha even a term or did I make it up? It sounded right... LOL

    Re: What Is Itttttttttttttttttt

Not a dumb question, I do know what a bridal is, it's the piece that goes in the horses mouth. some are one piece some two piece with swivel in the middle and some have a D-ring on the side but not a D-ring of this style. This one is too heavy for that and riggid which wouldn't allow for the leather to slip as it needs to on a bridal. I think this D-ring was used for saddle adjustment or maybe harness. A bridal is the horse tack family.

Looks to me like the handle from the side of a washtub.

As for the Bridle (not bridal) vs Tack question, all horse related items,ie. saddle, bridle, harness etc are lumped together as tack. The bridle is the headpiece, consisting of the headstall, bit (the piece Kirk described) and the reins.

    Hope this helps some.

    Hmmmmm..... Interesting.

I have always considered these to be the D ring from a saddle cinch.

Now as I look at it - I also see the handle from a tub! I'll be damned!

In case there are a few folks that have never had a bath in a washtub here is a picture of one like Old Okie is referring to. The side handles sure are like what you have pictured, Kirk. Climb into one of those with a bar of brown laundry soap in a cold room....Ahh life was great in the early days.

Every tub handle I've handled is round wire with a gap at the attachment end.

    Re: What Is Itttttttttttttttttt

That thing you stick in a horse's mouth is a a bit, not a bridle. Or maybe a carrot or a sugar cube. I 'd sure hate to go horse back riding with you sticking the bridle in the horse's mouth! Where would you put the saddle? I'm being a horses a-- and just kidding. M nty
