Soldier Medalion ID Please

This came up near some Indian Heads at a one room schoolhouse site. Thought it might be a Roman soldier but looks like it could be Spartan?? Any input will be appreciated and thanks in advance for any responses!!!

I'd guess it's some type of 15th-17th century morion type helmet. Looks like a cross between a Spanish and Scandinavian or Germanic style. Morion helmets (reinforced raised ridge) were used throughout 16th century Europe. Maybe someone will recognize it.

In my opinion it looks like the image of an Spanish conqueror (Pizarro etc.)
