Rolled Lead Thingies...
I found these near an area which we call arrowhead alley. The area is ripe with indian artifacts but not much else. They are lead and have been rolled over on themselves leaving a hole through the pieces. I thought maybe netweights...but the arrow scratched into one of them left me scratching my head.

Those in my opinion are lead wraps for gun flints, c.1700's, the one appears to have a crude British Broad Arrow marking. The British were famous for marking anything possible with the broad arrow that belonged to the British government. I would be hitting that area hard with a detector and searching for gun flints and trade silver items among the Indian artifacts.

Are you referring to lead jaw pads that wrap the flint instead of using leather? Would a flint still be inside?
I live in a state of rules where I am not permitted to live on my own country land because my home is not 130 MPH rated! I can only visit it from time to time and pay the fines. I feel so safe with Big Government protecting me. In some states its illegal to collect rainwater.

Yes, that's what I was referring to, this was a common practice to use either lead or leather. The flints do sometimes remain, but many times fall out, especially if found in a plowed field.
