Found this today (along w/a nice '42 Merc! Woo hoo!) It's about the size of a dime and says Hilgenberg Bros on one side and Good For xxx Trade. It looks like it was intentionally destroyed where the monetary amount was. I found a little info on it, but not much. Any ideas or knowledge?
Thanks

Re: Hilgenberg Bros. trade token? Small token find...
John:
Thanks for the lead.
Yes, that token was of high denomination (25 cents in 1920-- since a haircut cost about 35 cents at the time). 25 cents in 1920 equates to $5.50 in today's money based on the CPI increases since 1920. Wonder what 25 cents could have bought at Hilgenberg Bros?
