Two like relics found a few miles apart, Can anyone ID them.
I posted this on a couple of forums and just now seen this (What is it forum), Hopefully someone or others viewing either this forum or the other forums can identify the circular relics.
Saturday, I dug up a relic that I have found once before and funny thing it was dug from a nearby site very similar to the adobe site we detected last week.
Anyone have an idea what they may be? They are identical only one has the connected shaft broken off, Looks like it was pressed into wood or musket stock?
Would appreciate any and all comments on these like finds,

It could be a snap closure...
The piece on the right in RELICDUDE's photo is most Certainly a strap-end.  Dug one in a CW picket post last fall.  It still had a little leather attached:

Mine is brass/bronze and about the size of a quater......I did find it with some very old items.Im not sure what they are ,but i have about 6 of them, and they all look about the same...Some broke like his.

Because of the tapered shape of those mystery items, I'm thinking "finial"--but what from? The item would have to span both coasts and a diverse time-frame. I was thinking Percussion Cap Box finial, Cartridge Box finial or something like that--but those are even more mushroom-shaped...
