    Gold ring marking?

    Hi everyone,

I found a ring that appears to be gold. It doesn't have the standard marking. The marking inside has a "K" with a "W" & an "N" under it inside of a shape like an arrow. It also has what appears to be the abbreviation for Rochester, NY. Any info. would be appreciated.

That's the hallmark, the karat mark is different. Either way, it looks like a good gold find. Sometimes the karat mark is worn off.

IMHO PBK is an expert at ID'ing hallmarks, as he is at ID'ing all kinds of finds, he may be able to ID your hallmark.

    Thanks Ant,

It looks like solid gold. There's no signs of gold flaking off or different colors where the scratches are. I couldn't see any karat markings anywhere around the inside. There are initials, but that's all I could find. It appears to be some type of class ring. It has 3 letters on top and what appears to be 19 on one side and 74 (or 24) on the other.
