    Any idea what this is?

I was out a couple years ago m'ding around the Allegheny river in pa.We found this bar not to far from the river.Thought it was junk but my g/f who was the 1 running the md wanted to keep it.I don't believe it to be iron cause the rust looking stuff that is on it just flakes off if you scratch it with a fingernail.Ao any ideas if it could be something or is it just junk?

    test it with a magnet.
I live in a state of rules where I am not permitted to live on my own country land because my home is not 130 MPH rated! I can only visit it from time to time and pay the fines.  I feel so safe with Big Government protecting me. In some states its illegal to collect rainwater.

that is a prime bit of leverite --as in leave er right where you found it . -- the markings on the side tell you it was cut out with a "gas" cutting torch -- so itts just a bit of iron plate cut out by a cutting torch --- no biggie
