    buckle id

I found the one without the back bar for belt this week, and remembered that I had another one just like ir but complete with the bar in back for belt. Know that it is military, but can't find it in any books. It is 1 3/4 inches and is of brass. Any help withid and age would be appreciated.

    Re: buckle id

Me thinks these are US Army Calvary horse harness buckles (Rosettes). Post 1902.

being the "great seal design" on them was started into use in 1902 --it must be after 1902 -- horse buckle is highly possible guess. -- what kinda area you get them from? if it was an area that calvary troops might have been ?-- if so think you got your answer. --nice job jim.
