    interesting wooden piece - what is it?

    This item was found last week on the beach near the surf.

    It looks man made.

    Any ideas? How old?

    Maybe a home made device to take the round things (burners?) off of a wood stove.

    Reminds me of a tool used to reweave torn fishing nets. If so would probably date back to very early fishing in the 1700s. Monty
