1953 vet toy????
hi i forgot to put a measure next to car, it is 7" long x 3"wide x 2.5" tall at roof.
it seems to be brass, maybe bronze, as it is heavy, weighs about what a can of
soda weighs. hollow, wheels are alum. im not sure if the paint is original or not,
i think so as it seems to be on, like baked on.
the only steel is the plate with the cut out in it , on the bottom, def cut by a die
purpose unknown. im thinking some kinda mold maybe not toy

That would be my guess.
Could you downsize the photos to fit the page?

Re: 1953 vet toy????
Hmm, interesting.
I think there were only 300 Corvettes built in 1953 (first year), all of them painted white.
Hope this helps:

Re: 1953 vet toy????
Looks like a bank to me. The missing opening cover contained a lock and slot for coins. I have seen similar models. I'm thinking Bathrico banks or something like that.

Re: 1953 vet toy????
DG39 got it right. Made in 1974 Banthrico Bank from Chicago. Looks like they were a promotion item for varied businesses. This one was from a bank. IT is on EBAY right now ending August 10th.

Re: 1953 vet toy????
thanks i had looked on ebay, but under toy and only
seen the white 53 toy. you say a promo bank in 74.
i would have thought older too.
i have a 1987 silver color penny too, i think its made out of,
the metal a nickle is made of. ill have to scan or pic, and put it up
in a couple of days, when i have more time.
thanks for info on car
