Old Pin with British Silver Coin Embedded into it (War Pin?)
I recently dug this old pin with a sliver coin laying next to it in front of an old house. I identified the coin as a Victoria's Sixpence of England dated between 1893-1901. Could somebody please help me identify the origin of this pin or what it represents?

It is most likely a Jubilee medallion. The Victorians were a very patriotic bunch and many different types were issued. The reverse of the coin may have the young Queen on it similar to the attached photos.

Looks like someone glued that coin on a US Marksmanship badge.

That's what I thought at first, Ramitt, but it's upside down. While looking for something else last night, ran across a boy scout badge like that, but they didn't have anything for scale, so couldn't tell.

Yes, it looks mounted upside to so it can hang. That may not be what it is, but the mounts and the medal look identical.

LOL that's what I thought, at first, too. At the same time, I was thinking that if you only have a marksman badge, why doll it up? Cruel, I know.

If you read it came into question on the 3rd post. Thats why I pointed out the obivious. Also just because someone has 'established' it doesn't mean they are right (in this case they are). We have had plenty of examples of that one here.
