Crossing sabers with the letters SEN on the front
Found this today and wondered if it is military or something else. It measures about 2" tall and 1 1/4" wide and found in SW lower Michigan. There is nothing on the back, just flat.

Cool find. I have no idea what it is though
Definatly has a military feel to it. Plus it may look different in person but to me, it looks like it could be a K and not an N. Hope you find something out.

Looking closely at it, I do believe it is a N. There is some metal build-up near the letter and I am doing electroysis on it right now to hopefully clean it up and make it more legible. Thanks for helping so far.

I think it's related to the Buffalo Sabres Seniors Ice Hockey team

I considered the "K" angle, but also think it's an "N"

Re: Crossing sabers with the letters SEN on the front
After electoysis, it is definitely an N. I tried everything on google and still can't find anything. Crossed saber emblems were used during the civil war but it seems that most of them look upside down compared to this. Hopefully I will figure it out eventually. Thanks for your help.

With the saber pointing down it indicates peace time or not at war.
It is peculiar to say the least.

OK, OK,
I know the Whatsit looks older, maybe, than 1970 when the Sabres were formed.
But what to make of the nomenclature used here ?

The "SENS" they are referring to in your search link are the Ottawa Senators http://senators.nhl.com/, a completely different hockey team than Buffalo Sabres. The two teams would NOT be represented together this way. So I would have to believe it is not hockey related. I can understand you not knowing this being from New Zealand.
Nice try though. 8)

How about Small Extension Node. SEN is military related. Look up military small extension node for info.
