what dfx settings will give me depth

how should i set my dfx 300 so it searches deeper, it will be here in a few days. i have heard out of the box it doesnt go over 6 inches deep.

You might want to ask this question at www.dfxonly.com. Many things to take into consideration but the main "depth" setting controls are Preamp and AC Sensitivity. Ground mineralization, EMI interference, Frequency setting, Filter setting, could also effect your depth. "Digging Deeper with the DFX" by Jeff Foster is an excellent resource on all aspects of the DFX and also for learning about ground mineralization and how it impacts metal detecting.
