Hello,

I was in a thrift store today and bought a piece of equipment that I wasn't sure what it was. It had no name brands on it so I figured some kind of depth finder, since it had a depth gauge and a intensity gauge. Anyways, I got home and was looking at it and figured the back had to come off for batteries, and sure enough it did and inside was the manual from Whites Electronics , Sweet Home Oregon. It's a "Metal and Mineral Locator Model X 500". This is great having another metal detector when I didn't even know what I had bought. I looked on the net and can't find any information about it, but a manual (and I have the original one all ready). If anyone knows something about this detector please help a fellow detectorist out.

Thanks,
fletch

Hi Fletch,

The X-500 is a pretty old model, made in the 70's I think. We have one in the White's museum, and there should be a PDF manual for it on our web site. I am also looking for one for my personal collection if you decide to sell or want to horse-trade.
