You can turn on and go and it will ground balance while you swing but I would ground balance first in case you start out right over a good target, just turn it on with coil waist high before you start to ground balance. HH

By what I've read, I don't really think it's underrated. I love it, I just wish it didn't false so much after a drizzle... At least that's my case.

i have an M6 and I love it i think its one of the most under rated machines out there.

I believe it's because the machine is so SIMPLE.It is also highly effective.I got mine May 2010,being retired MDing is all I do,to date I've logged over 3800 hrs.I just can't say enough about the M-6!!

GOD Bless

Chris

I do love this machine, it is a fantastic coin shooter, on dry land that is. At the beach, even on the beach setting, the M6 falses as bad as my $100 Prizm. I tried to lower the sensitivity, no dice... Dry sand, wet sand, it doesn't matter... Must be these southeast Texas beaches! I was beating my head against a wall! It's the only time I've ever been, and not found a coin, not even a Lincoln cent!

And they say the BP oil spill didn't hurt the beaches!

i haven't had any issues with the M6 in the rain. I find it isn't that great in the wet sand (saltwater). However it is my primary dry sand and dirt digging machine. I purchased this machine knowing it would be used for dry sand and dirt so I am very pleased with it!
