the super 12 is a traditional coil just bigger, the double d is 2 D's back to back, creates better depth and better separation of targets

    I don't have a double D, I do have a super 12, I know it'll go 14 inches on a 6 inch piece of copper wire.
It really depends on where your searching, if it's a trashy area I'd go with the double D.
if you're looking for deep relics away from trash, I'd go with the 12

I agree if the area has trash Whites new 10" D2 is great. I have had it on my DFX since it came out.
I'm not saying it a better coil than the 12" just different and if you hunt parks or schools you can't go wrong with the D2

What is the weight difference between the two coils? I have the super 12 and find myself switching back to the 6x9 because it is lighter and easier to pinpoint.
