    DFX Pinpointing?

    Hello,

My DFX is great. I love it and I'm still trying to figure it out. My question is after I have moved the coil over a potential target and it's real evident that it is there I can't seem to pinpoint how deep the target is? Any help would be great. I am using the standard coil btw.

    Re: DFX Pinpointing?

Pinpointing may be hard because of the size of the target. Anything bigger than a coin, especially zinc mason lids will be harder to pinpoint. Read up on the detuning section in the book if you have one. Put the coil directly over the targer, then pull the trigger, then move slowly away from the target, then back over it to pinpoint. It may help out as far as the "Cone Shape" going in to the ground. Remember if it is a bigger target you think you are detecting, raise the coil above the round several inches to see if it is reaching it. If so, that is most likely a huge target. Like some piece of metal flashing, pop can etc...Hope that helps a bit.... jgas
