Had to send my sick DFX off.

I'm leaving on vacation unless than a week and I,m devastated because I can't take my machine About a week ago it started to act funny when pinpointing, almost like it was "shorting" out when I tried to pinpoint. Now it's just going haywire and is very unstable both in the audio and the display. I tried different batteries and even tried a different coil, no luck Anyone ever experience this? The place I am going is in PA. and has tons of great places to detect. I just hope they can fix my baby. I wonder if I can rent a machine while mine is away I live in CT. It's going to SUCK without my DFX...............Rich.

Rich.........I know exactly what your DFX sounds like, I too had the very same issues. If yours didn't start giving you false tones and bad VDI numbers yet it will, trust me. My best suggestion is to make sure you send it to Sweet Home, OR.......don't send it to Centerville Electronics in Virginia. I sent my to Centerville then a week later ended up sending it to Oregon to get repaired. Centerville said they could not replicate my problem and sent is back the same as I sent it to them.
When I sent it to the factory it came back with a new keypad, new LCD, new circuit board and a new screen cover. It works like new again!!!
I strongly suggest you send it to the factory to the attention of Todd Marshall, he is the senior repair tech. White's will make your baby new again!!

Where you going on vacation in PA? If you're close by I'm sure we can hook you up with a loner!!

DKinPA and Lawsonland, Thanks guys for the support. I,m sending it off to Sweet Home in the morning. Those guys have always been great. I'm also giving them the address I'm staying at in PA. and how long I will be there. Maybe I will get lucky and get it back before my vacation is over. I,m going to my Father in Laws house. He lives in a little town called Forksville about an hour from Williamsport. What part of PA. are you guys from?......Rich.
