I thought I would just Give an Update on my DFX300. I purchased it over 4 months a go and love it, to date this year I have Found 14 Rings and Probably $100 In Clad, Unfortuntaly in my state Silver Coins are few and Far between, I use the Relic Mode and Dig everything 70 and above, I am still trying to learn the programs, The coin and Jewerly programs are ok, but not that great for Picking up Gold rings... thats just me, if you have any suggestions on finding gold items, ie what vdi/programs please let me know thanks

from my experiences with an xlt, and a fairly new spectra v-3 most rings show up in the vdi range of about 14- 60 same as foil, pull tabs and screw caps. So if you are only digging targets with a vdi of 70 or above you would be missing them, also most pennies fall in the 60's range so you wouldn't be digging the 1877 indian head or the 1909 s vdb.....both very valuable coins.. Ricky is right about where some coins and rings fall with the VDI numbers. Depending on the area of the country your in you could tweek the programs some, but the best for max results is to get out often and hunt long.

Now if they made a DFX as light as a Tesoro it would be a huge hit. Or how about a waterproof DFX for underwater use.
