    Home made EXcelerator coil steady!

Found out when I put my new 10" EXcelerator coil onto my Beach Hunter ID that it would definitly need a coil steady. Used a PVC lid, off a electrical box, to make two of them. Used old nylon 3/8" toilet seat bolt to attach on rod cause original bolt was too short. Other one is for my Tesoro Tiger Shark with 8" coil. It's a little harder to make because of the coil design. Anyway here's a couple of pics for those interested.

Did you give any thought to a larger coil like a 12"-15"?

Not really, because the 10" coil is the only one that I have. "Need is the mother of invention!" Might be the same as the one I've already made. Don't they already make them? I've just got time on my hands and trying to be a "cheap Charlie!" LoL

Thanks! I haven't had much time to go and try it out except in the back bay. The modifications seem to really work well though.

Looks VERY nice, but how do you attach it to the rod? The pics dont really show that... I would like to make one for my 12" coil, but need specs before I invest the time... Can you please show a pic that zooms that area in? Thnx!
