which is newer spectrum eagle or 6000 di pro sl xb ?

i dont have enough catalogs to see which is the more recent machine

the spectrum eagle lcd screen pops up with

FIRMWARE COPYRIGHT 1991 whites electronics.inc.

the 6000 has the old style meter and yet i find it listed in

a 10/96 whites 1997 catalog,,,which no longer lists the eagle

showing the spectrum xlt.

so does this mean they went digital and then back to the meter.?

the 6000 di pro sl xb is the newer one...........If you read the article and it says the 6000 runs on 8 AA batteries and does not have the big cracker box control box it is the newer one. They made several different models on the 6000 and the newest model had the smaller control box that took the 8 AA batteries. The spectrum eagle run on 4 C batteries. You should be able to tell just by looking at the control boxes, Tim

i guess u are right. but , the 6000 di pro sl still did use the c cell pack.

i think it was only the last 6000 the xl that used penlights.

any one else know. it is easy to confuse the xl with the sl xb.

as far as i can tell it runs 6000 series 3,then 6000 di , then 6000 di pro.

6000 di pro sl xb...6000 di pro sl cb. and finally 6000 di xl

No, it means that White's had digital and analog models concurrently. From its debut in "blue box" trim, the 6000 was never out of production until 2004 when the model (XL Pro) was dropped due to certain parts being no longer available.
Of course, strictly speaking, the Eagle/Spectrum/XLT series were all analog machines as well. It wasn't until the DFX that a truly digital detector was added to the lineup.
