    Information on Whites TDI

I just bought a used Whites TDI and was wondering if anyone had any information on this detector?

Has anyone ever used it to find silver coins or for just coin hunting or relic hunting in good soil?

I want to use it for relic hunting in Virginia, but would also like to use it here in Ohio if possible.

Thanks for any information you might be able to give me.

Awesome detector for finding silver coins and pennies in very trashy areas. It will null out pulltabs (old and new) bottlecaps, nickles, and nails with the proper settings: Gain=9, us=0, GB=1-3, freq=as required, GB=on, Cond=high. Yes, it will discriminate. Pinpointing is a problem with the stock coil but Razorback coils (google) makes some decent coils for the TDI. A good pinpointer is a must have. The DF 12 inch coil that comes with the TDI is a PITA pinpointing with (use smaller middle coil to pinpoint with). I have found coins in very trashy areas that my MXT had a problem with.

Most, but not all gold nuggets, will come in the low conductor range so switch the conductor to low and now bring the GB up to 9. Nails will be nulled (discriminated) and you will hit on pulltabs, bottlecaps, nickles, jewelry, and gold.

    Happy hunting.

Which pinpointer are you using with the TDI? Any idea which vibrating pinpointer has the best depth?
