    MXT + Prizm II

Bought an MXT and decided to use the 'White's Dollars" to get a Prizm II.

Just got the Prizm II. After playing with both, the differences slowly become apparent. MXT tends to be quite a bit more "chatty", but can be made to act like the Prizm II by backing off on sensitivity a little. Being able to easily distinguish Iron and other bells and whistles on the MXT is kinda nice. HOWEVER, when it comes to basic sensitivity and discrimination, the Prizm II is just fine and definitely easier on the sanity for a newbie or kid. In All Metal mode, it sees a small Gold test nugget just about as well as the MXT (air test). I'm guessing under more hairy ground conditions the differences will become more apparent.

So far, no complaints about either one. Both find all those way cool nails, bolts, deeply buried aluminum cans and .22 cartridge cases equally. Cool!

    Congrats to your couple!

Yap, the Prizm is a right starter, even for the youngsters. And...

you can use both detectors at the same time very close together. Test it, you'll be surprised. So it was very pretty to hunt beaches together with my daughter. And depending to the different frequencies thy are going to complement one another.

Looks like you'll have a lot of fun...

    Thanks Vito!

Haven't found any info on Prizm II's frequency yet. Probably just missed it. Seems like it would be in the manual.

    It's a oddball freq. Something like 8.3 or 8.9

8.3 kHz Good frequency for finding those thin gold womans' rings and other gold jewelry.
