V3i Analyze screen question.
Hello all. I just got my V3i yesterday and I have a question on the analyze screen
Right now mine looks like the screnof an EKG. The problem is, when I got it, it didt look like that. It was the polar plot scree. My question is, how do you change that back to the polar plot screen or the other ones? I have no idea how I did it. I even restored the programs I made changes to. Any help is appreciated.

A factory reset to default settings will do it.

Thanks sandman. I was able to finally get it. I had to go into the expert menu and I can change it to whichever screen I like best.

Expert Menu -> Live Search Screen-> Analysis -> Polar Plot
I'm not sure what a factory reset to default settings is, but if you are recommending a hard reset such as is commonly used on the DFX, it is a very bad idea for the V3 or V3i.

Why is this a bad idea with the V3 or V3i?

Re: V3i Analyze screen question.
Boy is my face red!
Once upon a time there was a thread on Treasure Quest about how it would (potentially) mess up the detector. Then a regular poster on the White's forum stated (more than once) that his V3i had to be sent in for repair due to this reset.
I made the newbie mistake of assuming all that was correct and true. However, a little research indicates that is far from the facts. The thread on TQ was closed, and all the links to the White's forum are dead. A search of the White's forum, rather than warning, suggests a hard reset may be necessary to fix such maladies as the PP lock sticking.
The one individual with problems is still out there, but all else seems a house of cards.
Sorry for the mis-information, and thanks for calling me on it.

No need to be embarrassed as if we don't know the answers we ask for clarification. Everyone has to learn.

Re: V3i Analyze screen question.
The procedure you are referring to was a firmware (software) reset procedure that was run from the Expert menu on the V3i. White's tech support removed that advanced procedure from their site after some V3i's, without reason, experienced melt-downs after that procedure was run.
The hard reset with the battery removed is still a vaild procedure. Also, check to insure that VCO is turned on (it comes from the factory "OFF"...no one knows why). This will help with your pinpointing and analyze screens.
Hope this helps........KYBuzzBox
