    UPDATE ON ZINC 1.6 BATTERIE'S

    Got them in last week!! Try them out tuesday 24 When i turn it on READ 14 volts (8AA) at full charge on the mxt-300. it held 14Volts NO drain on them all day 8 1/2 hours of hunting that good for me!!!!!! holding on 14 volts don't need re-change yet!!!!! (NiZn) nickel-zinc 1.6 volts

    I too call WHITE'S to ask them if it ok!! that's good will take up to 15volts

    Been wanting to try those as the regular rechargables don't appeal to me as they are only 1.2V full charge and hear a noticable difference in the start up beep at 10V or below. HH

    The MXT battery check circuit maxxes out at 14V, so very likely your voltage is somewhere north of that.

    I heard they can max out at 1.85V at full charge that is 14.8V so it should be fine as not all cells will be that high but some can.
