    Re: upgrade

If I was only going to spend that much I would look for a used MXT its an excellent detector that can hold its own again any out there for sure. That way you will never feel outgunned if hunting with others, it can find even real small targets very deep once you learn it. Plus there is many coil choices for this detector to fit any need that comes up, there is one for sale right now in this price range right here on this site. HH

I have used several different models from the 5 major brands but now use a Whites MXT with D2 DD coil

    Re: upgrade

I second what wingmaster said!!! I have had 2 of them and now I just added the Whites D2 coil to my MXT and seems to be a real nice coil so far. If you take the time and look you can find a good used MXT in the price range your looking to spend. I do not know what you mean about toys but it has plenty enough features on it and is easy to use. Very fast on recovery and I have been happy with my Whites MXT for over 3 years now and I have used many different machines in the past. Good luck, Tim

    Re: upgrade

Ditto on the MXT. Careful on E-Bay. If you buy there, use Pay Pal only!. At least that way you stand a chance of returning a pos someone misrepped and tried to dump, and getting your money back. Been there, done that. A better solution is to check the forum sponsors and see if they have one for sale. They can tell you what shape the machine is in.

    All the best.

I would suggest you first always look here before EBay for a good used detector.....

MXT for sure or if you don't relic hunt or do very little, the M6 is an excellent coin / jewlery shooter.
