    About XLT

    Hello to all!

    Someone could help me
I do not succeed to take the hand with my Xlt.
Always they have been accustomed to use the 5900.

From little I have begun to use the Xlt.

The 5900 for the gold always gave mark them on the 50 or however more high than 40 and fixed.

And I could go sure to 90%.

While on the Xlt it gives for the gold a value of same + 25 but the identical one marks them gives on many (too many) can tears.

I have tried to carry out various tests with my ancient coins of gold.

The result has been always the same one.

It marks them equal for sure tears of can.

The 5900 instead discriminated very better!

Perhaps the signagraph it is from understanding better

All the diagrams were positive and had one single pure bar and a beautiful sound on the tabs of can!

    The 5900 discarded it…

    Welcome Jim.

Altho I am Not Familiar with the XLT,

I do Believe it is that you still havn't learned it well enough yet.

there are several XLT users here. Hopefully when they see this, that can give you a Few Pointers.

JIM, there May Be a Little Translation Problem in your Message.

Let me see IF I am Right about what your Asking above.

Are You saying You seem to be Finding More Can Tabs with the XLT then with the 5900 ?

and that the 5900 Found more Gold ?

and that you need Help with the Settings ?

    Re: About XLT

    Yes...exactly...

On xlt : +25 good sounds = tabs

But with 5900 ignore the same target!

    On 5900 : 40 =tabs (ALWAYS)
50 = gold or good target

    Re: About XLT

as I said I Don't have an XLT, But, I know if I cut out Tabs,
I loose some Gold, so I dig all tabs.

Does the XLT have a notch Control ?
You mey try to Notch out some of the tabs,
while still allowing Most of the gold.

    P.S.

I don't know why Nobody is Answering.
Only thing I can Think is nobody here has the XLT.
or for some reason havn't been on line yet.
Everyone here is usually pretty Helpfull.

    XLT

The scale references are simply made differently on the XLT than
the analog units. Have you tried out a DFX? You can change the
bottom end by expanding it in the 15kHZ frequency method by
turning normalize off. This will give you more units of measure
between a nickel, certain size gold rings, and tabs. The target
lock on a Whites analog does not change from sweep to sweep,
but on any Whites Digital that reads out a number, you can expect
the numbers to vary slightly, up or down from sweep to sweep.

    Re: About XLT

The XLT will require reprogramming when used in different earth.
The "Reject" and "Accept" VDI values will be different for tabs when the XLT is used over various earths.
When using my XLT, I will hunt until I find a tab and then reprogram the XLT to "Reject" the VDI numbers that are presented.
This method allows for different earth and with further adjustment while continuing the hunt, better performance can be obtained.
I recommend turning-off the "Icons" while hunting. The images of coin, tab, and nail are interesting but do not help when the earth is different.

I think you will use software to convert this message to another language, please tell me if the conversion is understandable.

    Re: About XLT

I have to agree with Ground Squirrel on the turning off of the icons and don't just rely on the VDI numbers. Learn the way the machine makes the sounds. It has been my experience that you must dig everything above IRON to not miss any gold rings.

    Hope this helped,
