Sorry I'm new here and realized after I posted up in the service in repair section that it's pretty dead over there and I might have better luck here. As such, I wont re-post but rather link to the original post as I'm not sure of the rules on multiple postings

call whites and explain the situation....have a price in your mind for what you'd pay to have it fixed and tell whites this figure...they should be able to tell you over the phone if this is a realistic expectation...if it is not then time to upgrade

acouple things you can try would be to disconnect and reconnect the coil and see if maybe that could be the issue or, while the detector is on , that is IF it will turn on, take the battery out and then re-install and see if a reboot will fix the problem. Perhaps it is something simple like this and you won't need to send it in. Good luck.

Simply call Whites. They will walk you through the hard reboot. If that doesn't work then send it in and ask for an estimate. If it's not to your liking then buy a new machine. I recommend the MXTpro. Plus there is a great special going on right now. Check out the Whites site.
