    Whites Classic 5 ID

Would like to have feed back on this..I do
not read any one talking about this model.

Is there some reason..just reading up on this
it sounds like a good model and fair priced.

All feed back would be most appreciated.

Not sure what your level of experience with detectors is but I use an idx pro and I believe it is the same as the 5 with only a few more bells and whistles. I think it's performance would be great and wouldn't disappoint, and would be a fine machine to learn the ropes without too much technology to overwhelm. Here's a link that may help with some more info, in case you haven't seen it yet http://www.kellycodetectors.com/whit...ssic5idpro.htm

Think they changed the frequency with the KellyCo version so its not the same and the vast range of coils the IDX can use won't work.

I have the Classic III SL. It does not have the ID feature. It is a great machine and based on my experience with it would recommend the Classic 5. Even if they changed the frequency and coil it should be a great all purpose machine. Just don't expect to get those deep coins in hunted out parks with it.

In comparison, would you say the Classic 5ID is better, less, or the same as a Prizm IV? (as far as performance).

I know there's the larger coil on the Cl-5 & the P 4 weighs less. It seems I read somewhere that the Prizm is just a newer version of the discontinued Classic series. The Classic is still made by White's exclusively for a couple of high-volume sellers.

They both fall into the same ballpark as far as price goes.

I have the classic 4 which is the same machine as the classic 5 except no ID. I am impressed everytime I get the machine out. MAKE sure and ground balance to the site you are hunting. You'll need a small screwdriver to accomplish this as the ground balance trimmer is under the flag decal on the top of the machine. I love the 2-filter design of the classics they are extremely good in trashy areas and the depth is phenomenal as good as any other top of the line whites machine. The only downfall to the classic 4 and 5 is, there are only an 8" and the stock 9.5" coil available. They use the same coils as the prism's. Unlike the earlier classics and the Idx that runs at 6.59 khz the classic 4 & 5 run at 8.3 khz. Overall a great machine. I like everything about it except the coil selection.
I've got my priorities straight. When I get back from detecting I'll get right to it Dear.
