Classic 5ID or Ace 250

Wifey says to pick out new play toy for our 15th anniv. So whats everyones thought on the classic 5id or garrett Ace 250. Live in NM so soil minerals are no problems and mainly hunt parks, schools and older building. Been using BH 3300 with good / mixed results. Want something with better quality-build. Or should I look on the forums for a quality used MXT, GTP, XLT . Will buy next week and begine the fun.
