    New V3i User~first impressions

Well I just got done with the first 20 hours with my new V3i. I have been detecting since 91 with the first spectrum to hit the streets, I moved on to the DFX, which I did not like than to the minelab, which for me was a horrid affair so back to the XLT. I just got the V3i and I have to say this is an awesome piece of kit. As everyone has been saying the learning curve is steep but still manageable. This detector really does go deep. The 10" DD coil is awesome but I also got the 6X10 DD. I think they both have their place. The 10" def goes deeper than the 6X10, but the 6X10 is way lighter and really does a great job in trashy areas.

I will be going back to Milwaukee on leave and plan to hit the ghetto where I know there is serious virgin ground. I plan on posting my finds from my 1880-1900 hood on the finds section.

I wish I got this sooner. I have only scratched the surface on what this machine can do but I'm already going at least 3" deeper on average than my XLT E-series.

After owning mine for a year I've only discovered there still more to this machine to learn. Theres so many small adjustments you can make to tailor the machine to the area your hunting. I've even created my first program for hunting ball parks.

    Here's a place to start.
