My XLT is on the fritz!

I let some youngsters use my detector without close supervision last week, and now my XLT won't balance and indicates "Overload" all the time. It could be that something coincidentally went bad, or the yutes decided to play with the settings. In any case, I'm in deep doodoo! What to do? The Eastern service shop is unavailable until January. Do I ship it out?

if you have a coil cover, check underneath. also look for things taped to the bottom of your coil. if that isn't the problem try a reboot. turn it on and without turning it off pull the battery and wait for 5 minutes and reinstall and check it again

Check inside the battery compartment for foreign objects, disconnect and reconnect your coil.
Make sure your pinpoint switch is in the proper position as well.
