IDX Pro

I got an IDX Pro from a friend a while back. Can anyone tell me how this detector rates as far as detectors go. I find plenty of loot but I just wonder what I'm missing and should I up grade. What we hunt mostly is Civil War in the south east..
Anybody got any input??

this is a great machine! do a search and read monte's posts.. what i know about it is its a keeper for sure.. ive had alot of detectors over the years and the newer ones are not any better.. in fact the idx pro is better than most newer ones. batteries last forever..its great in iron infested sites...i do air tests on all my detectors ive ever owned.. the idx pro is at the top with $1200 machines. i only use air tests as a guide to compare...

an air test is just that..turning on the machine while its sitting on your counter or porch...the using a wooden ruler to measure while you wave coins in front of the coil to check behavoir of coins, and other metal objects.i dont use it to gage in ground proformance, but it gives me an idea of what the detector can do.
