DFX
Is the DFX the top of the line in White's series? I am currently using a 6000 di Pro SL. I'm new to the sport but believe that I able to deal with the advanced functions of the DFX. I just want to get the best one I can find, price is not really a factor (within a grand that is). Thanks, Davy.

Re: DFX
there isn't really a "best" it's a matter of deciding what kind of detecting you will be doing and finding a matching detector. For example, a DFX would be the wrong choice for diving! A beach hunter wouldn't be the best choice for the desert!(it's kinda heavy to lug around in the heat!)
Welcome to the forum, looking forward to some great finds from you!

Re: DFX
Thanks for the advice. I have a wide variety of interests. Relic, coins or really anything of value. The DFX appeals to me because it seems to have a lot of bells and whistles and I am assuming since it is the most pricey out of the White's line up that it is their best. The 6000 that I am using is not mine but I may buy it. It belongs to my mother in law. What would be a good price to offer for it? I was thinking around $300? It is like new, never been used except recently by me.

Re: DFX
You csn find the price for the 6000 on e-bay. I'm sure someone is selling one there.
The DFX is White's top of the line. The DFX will coinshoot, relic, and you can use it to hunt gold. Keep in mind that most gold detectors operate at around 50khz. The DFX operates in 3 and 15hrz.
I own the DFX, and love it. There is a learning curve, and there is plenty of reading material to help you out.
A site here for DFX users only. www.dfxonly.com
And, you can find the book, "Digging Deeper with the DFX" by Jeff Foster here,

Good luck whatever you decide.

I also failed to say that you can buy a DFX from some retailers for $9-950.00. The factory will charge the whole $1,099.00.

Here in Ohio. A local dealer.
http://www.whiteselectronics.com/ Go to the site and hit the locate your dealers link. You may have more around you close. 975.00 is better than full price.

Re: DFX
I am getting the DFX and wondering about a coil choice. Has anyone had any experience with the Super 12 for the DFX? Is it worth getting or is it too big for this machine?
Thanks,
Daryl

I've read the field reports. If you haven't I would. Scroll down to the bottom of the page at the link below.

Re: DFX
I just ordered the White DFX E-Series detector. I should get it Monday. It was the only one I could find with VLF and "Regular" frequency that could be used either separately or together. I got it with the Super 12" search coil, the 8"x14" Eclipse Deepscan DD1400 coil, and the Eclipse Shooter DD 4"x6" coil. I guess I'll need to find more than bottle caps and pull tabs to pay off the credit card. My wife says this counts for anniversary, birthday, Christmas, and any other gift giving occasions for at least this year.
Mark, where are you getting yours?
