    All Types Of Treasure Hunting

    Whites 6000 PRO XL

I know the unit is old and analog but I just started using one I picked up barely used to hunt the local parks as I can't always get to a beach.

My Excal was a little heavy and the beach hunting setup I use a little bulky for park hunting. Must say I love it so far. The only problem I see is I am constantly having to stop and dig coins. Meter is right on.

They all find, "stuff". And, anymore, we dig everything that's a good solid signal anyway.

Those who know thier machines can use a radio shack unit and find more stuff than a person that has the newest equipment.

Some of us just have to have the most updated "looking machine."

Once again, I can't totally agree with this statement.

Yes, those who know there machines can do better than those who don't with the same type machine.

Some of those real cheapy models out there today would be lucky to find a nickel on the kitchen floor.

But, for the most part I tend to agree. Knowing your machine is the most important thing to being successful.

Hey Treasure Hunter. I have one as well. So far, I've found a 1941 walking liberty, five or so wheaties and my weight in clad (not literally but it seems like it). It seems to be a really good machine. I've noticed that I'm pretty good with it for the first hour of hunting. After that, my concentration gets a little lax and I start paying less attention to the meter. Also, I'm pretty good at find coins 4 inches or shallower but I've yet to really find any deep coin. I've read from another user that the "6000 has a wide non modulated audio which means deeper coins don't always sound softer. As the target depth increases the signal will sound more like a rejected target with a broken or staccato sound but the meter will give you some good info."

I'm to the point now that I want to upgrade to a better unit. I'm trying to decide between the Whites DFX and the Minelab Explorer SE. I'm not too concerned about the money I just want the best.
