Is This A Good $ For A New MXT

A local Whites dealer has offered to sell me a new MXT in an unopened box, the only thing is its not one of the boxes that include the following during Whites Summer Sale, free Carryall Case/Headphones and free books. Hes offered to sell it to me for $615.00 taxes included. My main concern is, could this be an old out dated unit that he has had laying around the back room for years?, or could it be a unit that was return for repairs and was refurbished and sent back to him. Can anyone tell me if Whites would stamp Refurbished some were on the box, also does Whites place a manufacturing date somewhere on the box or unit its self that I can look for?. If it is new and less then a year old is $615.00 a good price and should I jump on it?.

Whites does not stamp anything on refurbed or fixed units. That price is scary low on a new unit. Ask for the serial number and call Whites factory to ask them when it was made and if the warranty was ever sent in. The price is high for a used one unless there is a lot of warranty left on it.

If the deal sounds to good to be true, it probably is. Follow Tony's advice, he knows what he is doing as he is a dealer. tcmetaldetectors.com

I would not go for it when you do not know what you are getting. Is there a serial number on it get it and check with Whites they might be able to tell you about the detector...
