How well does the Super 12 coil (MXT, DFX) pinpoint

It seems like the stock 9.5 coil doesn't pinpoint real well for me and I'm thinking of replacing it anyway. Does anyone have experience with the Super 12?

I have a MXT and it is allmost allways rite on with the pinpoint. I haven't used a super 12 yet but I would think it would be the same.

My stock coil pinpoints very well. I also have the Super 12 and it does almost as well. Do you ratchet down the signal when you are pinpointing?

No, didn't know that ratcheting down the signal would help. I guess I just need more practice pinpointing with the stock coil. I just got the MXT and prior to that had been using a Tesoro that's real easy to pinpoint with because of the spider coil it uses.

See if you can try someone Else's coil. My 9.5 has always been dead on and the Super 12 I have had for a couple of months has been dead on as well unless the target is 3" or less then it is under the flat area the lower shaft is attached to. This little hint was obtained from the Whites forum, I think from Rob.
